i am relieved because i received a simpler way to check firmware.
ok, now do i have to test to find out if my cam -a590IS- is using ver.req or vers.req?
update:
i could check firmware- 1.01B- with cardtricks 143. i dont see any counted images although i had made some. so on this software is always ver.req. and vers.req must be made manually, right? how about integrating both versions?
update2/3:
i tested now both versions. actually vers.req installed. still no total of images shown.(see below)
most probably its because i do not have yet my chdk installed.....(is wrong)

A590IS - CHDK Wikisubsequent press of DISP (while still holding FUNCSET) reveals:
one more time(doing it twice shows total amount)
so to check total amount of images one has to use a seperate card. fat-formatted with cardtricks installed. installs ver.req, not vers.req( which must be installed-created manually. pls correct if i am mistaken or unprecise
