board for camera hardware mods?

just thought i'd make a polite request for a new board solely for camera hardware mods.

i have a hard time with stopping at modifying the software and i bet others feel the same way.

A dedicated hardware area on the forum is a good idea. This will stop the same questions being posted in different sections of the forum.

I am a hardware guy; not a software guy. The CHDK developers have done a good job in enhancing Canon cameras. Unfortunately there are too many people posting hardware ideas which are impracticable real world photographic applications.

My attitude is that if a person is not prepared to contribute real world technical engineering solutions and enhance the software capabilities of CHDK so every one with a CHDK camera can benefit then they should post their ideas on Instructables or You Tube.

Panorama photography is an art. As with any art, the right equipment to carry out the job effectively and competently is required.

Recently I posted a guide for building a panorama rig. I worked for many years in the electrical and electronics servicing industry. I am not prepared or have any intentions of getting into a technical flame war with people who are not prepared to GOOGLE and do their own technical research.

Once I have built and tested various rigs I will post a comprehensive guide on the CHDK Wiki.

yes!

It also would be a good idea to have a place for hardware projects not direclty related to "breaking" the camera, like USB remotes, panoheads, Picaxe stuff, steppers etc. etc. etc

Hi again, sorry for the delay (Holidays...).

I have created a new category board, as this topic seems to stand out from the rest.
