How to unload script?

How do I unload a script, set the current script to none? I ran a script, but now can not get the camera to go back to normal. Even after turning the camera on and off the script was still loaded, and the shutter button keeps starting and stopping the script.

Just leave alt mode by pressing the print button. Pressing the shutter while in alt mode will always try to start the currently loaded script. Thats how CHDK works, try reading the manuals.

I've been reading the FAQs and searching searching the web for hours. I can not find anything about this.

Pressing the print/alt button doesn't unload the script. The script is still there when I press alt again.

Of course it is. In alt mode you do your override settings, configure CHDK, start scripts, in normal mode you do your shooting. If you want to take photographs, leave the alt mode.

I ended up creating a "do nothing" script, consisting of just a single comment line. If the shutter release is accidentally triggered, it still annoyingly causes any alt menu to close, but doesn't do any further damage. I wish the shutter release would simply be ignored in alt mode if one hasn't loaded a script.

I dont get it - Why would you press the shutter in alt mode whe it annoys you so much?

Forgetting to leave alt mode (due to not knowing/remembering there is an alt mode to begin with) is a very common noob thing to do, I used to do it a lot.

Maybe a bit different script would be a better solution:

@title default2.bas
shoot
exit_alt
end

I didn't really try what it does but I'd hope it shoots and exits alt mode and also finishes the script either right after shooting or when entering alt mode the next time. Either way full pressing in alt mode would shoot and exit alt. Remove the shoot if that's not what you want (double pressing shutter is probably a normal reaction if the first full press doesn't shoot).

It's wired to an external sensor controlled by the subject.

I am also having a tough time with this. Even when in ALT mode, there are times when I don't want a script to run and I cannot find a way to unload one. Perhaps I'm daffy, because I'm thinking that in order to take advantage of all the CHDK features, I must remain in ALT mode while shooting. Perhaps that's my problem.

I have this issue too, I've loaded a timelapse script but now I want to unload it and just use my USB remote trigger, I still want to be in alt mode, I just don't want the timelapse script running anymore. It seems you can load scripts but not unload them.
