Hi, I found out about CHDK on an episode of Systm :)

My camera is a SX100 IS and it uses a 8GB MicroSD with an adapter. I tried using a cheap multi-card reader and my PC just lags when I try to open the drive. I also tried connecting directly to the camera, but I don't get the normal root folders.

I read on the FAQ about some issue with cards larger than 4GB where I have to partition and do some stuff. How can I do this if I can't access the card? Do I need a special program?

My guess is that you need a new card reader. Old ones (and even some new) don't support SDHC cards. If you're in luck, you may find a new driver or firmware for your card reader to add support for SDHC.

For start CHDK on SX100 the adapter with the "lock" switch is required.
