Wow, I'm glad there has been progress on building CHDK for the SD770/Ixus 85 IS. I know it's only a work in progress, so doesn't have all the features working yet, but it's great news to see that someone is working on it.

I hope that it won't be too long before all the bugs are worked out and we have a working full version of CHDK for this camera!

I look forward to trying the work in progress version soon

yep works tried in my cam boots meu can load svripts, not sure if its me being usless or just part of the process some of the scripts crashed they were for the 80 camera tho

but menu comes up, battery meter etc

definately on its way!!

yeah there are a few crashes in there still

I have fixed most of them now I think, but the RAW data its saving seems to be wrong at the moment.

I'll get you an update soon

My brother borrowed my camera but i'll have it back next week and can't wait to try the install.

As for the RAW saving... maybe it's 12bit like the 790?

interesting you say that ..

some numbers I found in the ROM only add up if the CCD is 12 bit ..

on the other hand I have had no luck yet getting the raw data dumped yet, so this may be completely bogus

Status is that the DISKBOOT.BIN for download at the beginning of this thread kind-of-works.

Most important is that the RAW writing doesn't work at the moment. I have just found the RAW data in the cam's memory. Strangely enough though, the data is now 'windowed' which means we have to recode the raw dumping code a little to get the entire image (I'm getting only the first 1/3rd part at the moment).

However, I CAN report that we're getting 12 bits-per-pixel, which is a first for the Canon's supported by CHDK. Since I'm not getting the full image yet I'm note 100% sure about all this yet, but it looks like the data really is 12bit.
