Hello, welcome smore !

I just got this camera....1.01A...
soooo what do I do?

Your camera & fw version is supported by CHDK,
now you should read a little in the CHDK wikia, e.g. start with the FAQ, then go on with "CHDK for dummies"...

After that:
-Download the CHDK for your SD1100 fw 1.01A from the autobuild server (wikia, "Downloads"; use the "complete" package).
-Use Cardtricks to format your SD card (max. 4 GB), make the card bootable, unzip the downloaded CHDK complete package to the card.
-To start your camera with CHDK LOCK the card...

(you'll find all needed links in the wikia)

I did but some of the stuff doesn't match up...
where it is suposed to say No Error or whatever mine says E18

does that matter?

No, doesn't matter - your camera had a little problem some time ago, e.g. the lens was blocked while power on - but this is only a historical log.

Just download Cardtricks, prepare your card (format + make bootable), download CHDK from the autobuild server.
Then install CHDK with Cardtricks: click "CHDK -> Card" and select the download package.
Then lock the card & put it in the camera; maybe you have to press the shutter button once to change from playback to record mode...
