Using GentLED shutter release

Can anyone give me some advice on getting shutter release working using a GentLED RC remote interface and CHDK?  The answer to this is probably something simple because I've never used scripts before.  Here's what I'm trying to do:

I have one of these:  gentLED Camera Remote Control: Options

It's a GentLED CHDK remote interface for use with RC receivers to trigger a CHDK script.  All I want to accomplish right now is to operate the shutter release using the GentLED and maybe in the future start and stop movie mode.  My camera is an Ixus 960is.

I followed the instructions on the site and downloaded 2 scripts from this page:

gentLED Camera Remote Control: Contact Us & Manuals

The ones I've tried are remoteshutter.bas and zoomnshoot.bas.  In both cases I've copied them onto my SD card into the CHDK\scripts folder using Windows Explorer (is that right?).  With the first one, when I trigger the GentLED the LCD on the camera goes blank and it makes a quiet click (sounds like AF working) but no photo is taken.  With the second nothing happens at all.

I'm not sure why it's not working - any advice?

Have you set the USB Remote option on in the Miscellaneous Stuff/Remote Parameters CHDK menu?

It sounds as though your camera is switching to review mode (which is what seems to happen when you connect some Canons to a computer via the USB port). You need to set the USB Remote option on to allow CHDK to react to USB power pulses.

Thanks, I've done that and it's progress - now the camera responds to the trigger signal.  It looks like it takes a photo - the orange AF lamp lights and the camera makes a beep.  Only problem is - no photos are being saved.  Is this because the SD card is write protected?  But if I boot up with the card not write protected it doesn't load CHDK.

Cancel that - I just tried again and it worked ok.  I don't know what I did differently but I will experiment a little and see if I can get it working reliably.  :xmas
