I also have a SD600.  I'm dying to try CHDK.  Almost tempted to go and get a SD1000.

Yea I think I'm going for the 850 cuz the 1000 continuous-shot is almost twice as slow (half as fast?), though, but yea.

Firmware dump for a Powershot SD30 (USA) / aka IXUS i zoom (rest of world)

Oh, and firmware version GM1.00G

That udumper is pretty useful, considering the lengths others are having to go to with the LEDs / LDRs etc

Note to anyone with this camera who wants to check their firmware version that it doesn't have the buttons which are specified elsewhere in this forum to get the firmware version. Instead, after loading on the blank file called "ver.req" onto your memory card, you need to press 'func. set' and the flash button

I'm trying to get my way around this thing to figure out the next steps (porting?) in the process now  :blink:...

Hi there, i already wrote this in an extra thread.. But forgot to mention some information, so i'll simply repost it here.. (Hope thats okay..)

I dumped the firmware from my PowerShot A410 with udumper:

powershot_a410.dum.gz - 1.47MB

Canon Powershot A410
P-ID: 30F9
Firmware Ver: GM1.00F

Dumped the thing trice and compared the md5sums, all identical - the hexdump of the file looks okay, too.

Unfortunately i dont have a decompiler, so i dont really know how to proceed on my own.

(Hope this posting was understandable, my english isnt that good.. i'm from germany)
