I have an A550 and would like to learn script writing. Is there a guide for beginners available or at least a list of commands that can be used?

You might find it useful to try out your scripts on a PC (or Mac) with my interactive debugger - see http://www.zenonic.demon.co.uk/kapstuff/zubdb.html

The interactive debugger, how often is it updated to reflect changes in chdk ubasic? Does it HAVE to be updated?

It does have to be updated (inside there's a modified version of the interpreter that's in CHDK). I try to keep it up to date - I'm not aware of anything currently missing.

Actually, I just checked and there is a recent fix that's not in the debugger - the "wheel_right" statment won't work
