proDOOMman , I have followed your link & downloaded the file but it did not work on my cam ( i followed the instructions on the chdk site for making the memory card boot-able ) ......
i really wish you luck in porting this cam. I've been waiting for a long time now & actually thought of getting a new 1 before i read your post about your success with porting this cam
P.S my firmware version is  GM 1.00C
best of luck & let me know if you need to test any of your codes on my cam...

proDOOMman, on what CHDK version is your port based? I've tried it with subversion trunk and got some undefined references:

camera_set_led
_add_ptp_handler
_Rec2PB
_set_control_event
_PB2Rec
_Restart
_reboot_fw_update

I assume these are functions that have been added between your port was made and trunk.

I was able to make it work! (changed proDOOMman's ubasic_set_led to camera_set_led and added dummy functions for the other ones)

If somebody wants to test it, I've published a compiled version on http://200.69.223.160/~horape/DISKBOOT.BIN

I've try your patch with CHDK-DE. The compiling was successfull. The missing addresses were found.

Can you test the attached build? I made some minor changes. Also stubs_entry_2 must be cleaned up.

It runs correctly (I have just tried the trivial things, some photos, a video, zebra stripes)

I don't know how to clean stubs_entry_2. Could you give me a hint on what needs to be done so I can read on it and try to do it?

Double entries (stubs_entry and stubs_entry_2) should be deleted in stubs_entry_2.

Updated and fixed A580:

NOTES:
Half Shutter + Left - Sets AFL
Half Shutter + Right - Toogle OSD on/off
Half Shutter + Up - Sets AEL
Half Shutter + Down - Toggle Histogram (Don't / Always / Shoot)
Half Shutter + Menu - Toggle Zebra on/off
Half Shutter + Display - Disable overrides

In Alt:
Display - Toogle RAW on/off
Up - Toogle MF

In ALT + Manual mode:
Display - Sets Infinity
Down - Sets Hyperfocal

Adjustable Alt button supported.

User menu works.


PLEASE TEST:
These Manual Focus adjustments can also be achieved with shortcut keys.
In <ALT> mode, using the LEFT / RIGHT keys to adjust the Value Factor and the Zoom lever to adjust the Subject Distance.

SDHC multi-partition boot and swap supported. (Tested with 2GB SD (2MB  FAT12 and FAT32 the rest), can someone test it with a larger card 8GB, 16GB...)
