Now over $2000 for hacking Canon 5D II

I just wanted to say that the fund for Hacking the firmware on the 5D II over at Canon hack have now reached a bit over 2000USD.

It will most likely keep rising so if anyone has the knowhow please to get started :-)
Also It sounds like an idea to use this thread (or create a new one) with progress on the hack and ideas etc.

Would be great to know if someone is working on it, wants to work on it or has ideas.

i seriously doubt there was ever a hacker in history who was lured into hacking by the prospect of getting money.
what would someone, who already owns a 2k5 camera, do with all this money? he doesnt need it, because he already seems to be a rich guy. this is debatable of course.
next issue: how would he get the money? who would get it? the one who first was able to run code on this camera, or the one who was the first to run USEFUL code on the camera? or people like dataghost, mx3, ewavr, vitalyb, grand and numerous other people who paved the path for something like this to happen? it is not fair and it will never be.
there have been a few threads about money already, and if these debates showed something, then that money should not be raised in topics in this very forum here.

I will shoot that down since I can personally attest that my very last money (and I mean it) went to pay the 5D II (which I am yet to receive).

The person who will get the money is the one who accomplishes all features on the requirement list. I think that is fair. No one complains when someone gets rich after using open source or other freely available work. Anyone who does work and puts it out for free must know that other people can use it for their own end be it for fun or for profit. In this case at least the resulting source will be freely available which is pretty good no?
There is no requirement that the winning person should use any part of CHDK at all. I'm simply posting here as well as some other places to let everyone know that we are out there.

Personally I see the money only as an indicator on how badly people want this hack. The fact that you actually receive money is a bonus. If it's unfit subject on this board I apologize it was not my intention to stir anything up.
