histogram on half shoot in alt mode: bug or feature ?

In the current trunk, if you have histogram set to shoot, and half shoot in alt mode (play or rec) the histogram appears, and stays after you let up alt. After you release alt, it stops updating, but doesn't go away until you do something that causes a screen update (switch mode, go to menu etc).

This also happens in play mode without alt, if zebra is not enabled.

Any hints on how much of this is intended would be appreciated ;) Or just say how yo think it should work.

Note: all of the above based on testing a540.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

I wasn't asking about zebra and histo in playback mode. That is indeed a feature. The question is histo (sometimes) staying around after you let up half shoot.

I've been wondering about this once or twice myself. Half shoot histogram in alt mode may be a bug or an unintended feature (you know, the kind that appears after changing something else but leave be because it may be useful some day). Histogram doesn't appear when pressing half shutter by the means of a script.

IMO it's unintended behavior and should be fixed, but that really is just my personal opinion. It's possible to think uses for it, like if someone wants to compare histograms from two scenes without taking a photo. But then again it's not really good for that either and why wouldn't they take the photos...
