I dumped the fw from the SD950. Seems to have the right signature in the beginning and is 7EFFFD bytes long. Bit of a trick with an 8GB memory card.
How do I figure out what the correct load address for the image?
Loading address is the address you dumped from, in your case evidently 0xFF810000. Rom size (for full dump) is then 0xFFFFFFFF-0xFF810000+1=0x7F0000, or perhaps 0x7EFFFF, as IDA may want to keep the last byte for it/herself. Loading size also 0x7EFFFF, or the actual size (in your case 0x7EFFFD).

I wasn't following this topic. But I can see firmware update option on my A650 followed by a error message. How do I manually load CHDK by this method? Can this make CHDK run a 8 GB card?

How to get keys:
get somethere G9-100F full dump (8MB) and G10-100F full dump (8MB).

Could someone post a link to the G10-100F dump (or email me the keys directly)? All the links I can find seem to be broken.

Thanks,
Emlyn

Thanks for the link. Actually ERR99 already sent me the keys, but it could be useful for other people looking at the thread.

I have an sd1300 IS camera and sd780 IS. I can make a build of ps.fi2 to blink the AF LED on the sd780 in an attempt to get a dump, however i cannot get the same process to work on the sd1300 without getting an "Update File Error!!!" I know it's because of key/value pair mismatch but i am sure the PID of sd1300 is 0x31F4 and the ID is 0x01000000.  See http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/SD1300IS Does anyone know if the sd1300 supports encoding and what form of encoding it supports?  This is the line in my map file "HDR 0x000031F4 0x02230000 0x01000000 0x00000000 0x00000001" and my -sys argument is "G10". I hope some wiz out there would help or at least point me in the right direction. Thanxs

Keys are unknown - both diskboot.bin key and fi2 key.
Maybe for now, maybe forever.

This applies to all cameras released in 2010.

Thanks cppasm for giving me heads up. What does the chdk experts have to say on this?

If someone here knew more about those cameras, it would probably be mentioned in that thread.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Does anyone have the keys for G9-100d they can send me, please?
- not needed, data is available in this thread. Using the fi2enc tool I have made a manual start  version of SDM for my G9_100i
