I have installed CHDK (v. 0.9.3-690 build Jan 23- 2009 05:46:12, Camera ixus860_sd870 - 100c)  on 870IS SD Card.
Locked my SD card and booted my camera.
Then i have changed RAW Parameters -> Save RAW to yes.
Then unlocked my card again.
Then booted camera with half shutter pressed (as mentioned in one of the discussion forums)
Then clicked one pic and wasnt able to find RAW file on my card  :(
Any help please ...

You need to leave your card locked. CHDK overrides the lock when it is running.

But if i leave the card locked then even if i press function set key + power key it only shows Canon Clock and then hangs (dim clock appears in grey screen) and otherwise if i power the camera (without function set key) it boots in preview mode only.

The camera does not load CHDK if the card is not locked.

Why are you pressing set+power ? I don't personally have this camera, but I'm not aware of that being a shortcut in CHDK.

If I understood other posts correctly, you have to press shutter to get to record mode after booting CHDK. On some camera models, holding down the power button will take you directly to record.

If I understood other posts correctly, you have to press shutter to get to record mode after booting CHDK. On some camera models, holding down the power button will take you directly to record.

On the SD870  (maybe on other Ixus models, too) you can do a "quick start" with this method:
- clock display time must be set to 0 in the Canon menu
- press & hold FUNC/SET, press POWER, wait until the clock display appear (~0.5s), then release FUNC/SET
The camera then starts directly in record mode...

@nouserid4me
If you want to use this method, do the following:
-> set "Clock Display" to "0s" (in the Canon menu)
-> hold FUNC/SET while you press POWER, release FUNC/SET directly after you see the clock screen - if you hold FUNC/SET too long, the camera crashes...

This "feature" is documented for a long time in the wikia: CHDK for Dummies - Odd and Tricky cameras  :)
