G9- trouble loading CHDK

G9- trouble loading CHDK

G9 vers 1.01D   SanDisk 2.0GB SD card
 
Can't get CHDK loaded. I have extracted the right version, diskboot.bin file is in root directory, tried locking the card, turned on camera in Play etc.   Tried both full and short vers.
I had no probs loading and running SDM ( BTW the remote shutter using home -made and Ricoh releases works a treat) prior to this but I have been keen to try motion detection.

even tried cardtricks ( including reformat ) to get this loaded. As far as i can see I have followed the instructions to the letter several times. When i put in the card, the  menu doesn't display 'firmware update" but I am not sure it did when loaded SDM the first time. 

Any suggestions would be welcome. 

HAs anyone tried motion detection on a G9?

Fudgey's motion-detection script runs with SDM and should be the default script.
If not, load it and run it.
It is set to test mode so that you can see it working without taking photos.

The SDM installer made your card bootable and copied DISKBOOT.BIN to it.
There is no firmware update involved.
