Hello, everyone!

This is my first post here.
I'm being using CHDK since some time, reading all I could read about it. It really gives new life to our Canons!

Information about creating badpixel.bin using badpixel.lua in wiki page is really succinct : http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Badpixel_removal#badpixel.lua

I will try to complete it, but I have a couple doubts.

I have read all I found on the forums about this subject, and the newest information I found is this post:
http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,156.msg25648.html#msg25648

There it's said that the script was tried using "Auto" and "P" modes.
Is being in one of those modes a requisite for using the script?
I imagine so, because I have tried it in "M" mode, and results heavily depends on shutter speed.
But if I'm not wrong and "Auto" or "P" is a requisite, it should be said on the wiki, and even better, on a message when running the script.
Please, could someone confirm if I'm right?

I have noticed also that even in "Auto" mode, I obtain diffrerent results depending on the scene luminosity. If I focus a daylight scene, I give abot 2700 bad pixels. If I focus a dark one, like shadows on my room, or even putting a black paper in front of camera, I give ~8400 bad pixels. I can't remember the exacts numbers, but I have only got 2 different results and both are stable,

Is this behaviour normal?
Which badpixel.bin should I use?

Thank you!

I answer myself:

I have tested it more thoroughly. Actually it gives me 3 different values.

1/30 or faster exposure time-> 8785
1/25 - 1/8 -> 2715
1/6 or slower -> 1483

As said on  wiki:

Some cameras have two defect pixel lists, which are switched at exposure time ~1/25s. Use the list with maximum (but stable) defect pixel count, otherwise you can see multiple black points on image in some RAW convertors.

I'm now using the bigger value with success.
