I have just tried to acdtivate chdk.
It is the right hardwareversion, but says Error E18
It should be format16

I have installed this version: a650-100d-0.9.7-720.zip, but every time I open my A650 it writes  "Card Locked!" and nothing can happen? :-X

(1)  E18 error in the firmware information screen means: there once was a problem with the optic / lens mechanics, maybe some time ago, it's a kind of log for the service. Nothing to worry about if the camera works normal...

(2) Make the card CHDK-bootable (under Windows use Cardtricks).
You can also start CHDK manually: power on your camera in playback mode [>] , press MENU, scroll down (first menu tab) & select "Firmware Update"...

PS: When starting with CHDK, you should download the complete package from the Autobuild server, it contains additional scripts, fonts & other things...
