looking at various pictures and judging for example by brightness it seems to me that from a certain point on there isn't much of a difference so definitely I can get much faster than 1/2000 but there is a limit in the end

I did a test and it seems that about 22 pixels are really bright vertically when it's set normally to 1/2000 and at the end of a bracketing session there are about 5 pixels vertically, basically meaning that it's taking pictures at around 1/8000 I would assume which would still be great (if I'm not missing out on something).

well, in that case maybe that's why they've set the limit at 1/2000 in a710is' case so that it would shoot at that spees even when the batteries are almost flat.

but what are you shooting at these speeds?
I believe that only bright light sources would show up in images at these speeds.

I made testbuilds with highspeed setting to 1/10000, just added values to the settings internally.

there seems to be a problem with the shutter override. when I set it to off, my camera locks and the lower led blinks in yellow. the only solution is to take the batteries out and it beeps when i do that. my camera is the a710

I too have been getting narrower lines in the bracketing than I am getting now. I guess more values need to be added.
Does anybody else have problems when shutter override is set to off?
edit: I believe that when I set it to 20 it's the actual off and when I set it to off it's some high value. guess it's just about wrong value assignments. looking forward for a fixed version from Fingalo
cheers

I have the same problems as a710is with my A620 in override [OFF] all other settings are working great!
I'll go out tomorrow to try the first shots with flash and high shutter speeds.

Thanks to fingalo and Woodsman, great job!  :D

Just a Drop in a Bucket compared to what CHDK Can do now!
