Panning time lapse of sunrise

Hi, this is a panning time lapse i've made using the CHDK firmare hack and the unlimited interval script. Taken with a Canon Powershot A570 in Levanger, Norway. The script was set for 5 sec intervals. As for the pan, i used a 24h timer switch..

Those last few seconds of the video contain some brilliant colours. Great work Edgel.

so you used something like that as a panning device? do you have a picture of your setup? How did you affix the cam to the timer? really great idea.

yeah, very creative use of resources ...

@PhyrePhox: maybe double adhesive tape, or small 10c velcro pads ?

thanks, it was only an experiment after an idea i got..

@Phyrephox: that's the exact timer i used! i don't have a picture of the setup though,  but i glued a metric flat washer on top of the timer,in addition to an appropriate sized screw and a bolt. Finally i secured the camera with a line, because i the window was open the whole time. That's by the way  my bedroom view :)  In the summer we almost have midnight sun here. Midsummer the sun only manages to sneak under the horizon for an hour or two..

Total amount of pictures: around 2000
The pictures where taken between  ~12am to ~5am

Excellent time-lapse !

As the timer switch does not require much power, a simple 12V to 120/240V inverter could drive it from a small sealed lead-acid battery.

Sunrise is too early for me  :)
