@g4m3rz : what does that mean, it turns off? you mean it turns off while taking pictures, or it wont boot properly? i cant reproduce that problem, so are you sure youre doing everything as described? how many pics can you take?

@arbarbarb : no, thats _not_ what it means. the files i posted here are the plain chdk binaries. you will notice that they create additional files and folders on your sd card. those may continue files (like the badpixel script) that you may need.

The camera doesnt boot properly.  i get the blue led and then it turns off again.

i am not sure whats causing it (bad memory card ? )
I formatted the card and installed a fresh copy of chdk.  the camera worked fine with chdk for a while then the problem started.

I tried reformatting and again it worked fine for a while..

I have moved back to the previous versio just to see if its a  problem with my camera or the build ..

I'll post if i find anythig :)

and thanks for working on the port.

@g4m3rz: maybe it is the battery? This happens to me only when the battery is exhausted.

Hello all! First time posting here, but I've tried CHDK a few times on other cameras.

Thanks for all the work to get this working! I've just ordered an 890 and are curious if there has been any progress on the optical zoom while in movie-mode?... snc, i saw you hadn't made any progress about a month ago, but this is the main feature I'm looking for so curious.

Thanks!

I found UnsetZoomForMovie a long time ago, so I wouldn't know why the zoom stuff shouldn't work. I don't have a 970 for testing it at the moment, though, so feel free to try.

Been implementing ewavr's little addition of extended exposure times, so they should be completely unlocked in the next version ...

I have a problem. (Acutaly it's my fathers camera)
Camera: Ixus 970 Firmware 1.00C PAL D.
CHDK version: ixus970_sd890-100c-0.9.7-730-full

CHDK starts and menu works. But i can't take pictures. The camera locks up and the display goes black when i press the shoot button. Half press is ok.
Tried to shoot in raw or jpg same result.

And another problem is that the camera sometimes (most times) starts in play mode. Even if i have it set to M and press the power button.. I have to half press the shoot button to get it to extend the lens and go into shoot mode.

Any specific setting that can be the problem ? or some tips on how to maybe find the cause ?

Huge thank you for making this camera support CHDK. My father has asked me for this ever since i showed him CHDK on my Ixus 700 :)

EDIT UPDATE:
Just tried the file CHDK-ixus970_sd890-100c-300309.zip from page 3 in this thread and this works :D
It still starts up in "play mode" though, so i have to half press the shoot button to get it going.

I might just be slow but I'm having the exact same problems as you Nickman but I can't for the life of me find the file your saying fixed your problem.  Searched the forum and looked through all pages again too. Did I drink myself retarded last night? ;)

*Edit*
Thank you Fe50, It's working like a charm now!
