Sorry - I posted this in the wrong section last time..

Is it possible to save to laptop with USB in real-time (while using CHDK) - instead of using the camera's memory card? I want to save while shooting in continuous time-lapse mode.

I have a Canon A590is.

Cheers.

No it isn't, but since you posted on the devel forum, you may want to try and read this one and decide to try some of it on a590:

Since then some advancement has happened that in REC/PLAY switching that could be worth exploring with that thing in mind as well:

It depends what your time-lapse interval is.

There are two ways that SDM supports.

The first, uploads all taken images at certain intervals. On switching to playback the lens retracts every time although someone has posted a sort-of fix for that.

The second way starts-up an image-capture programme on the PC.

Someone is testing that as I write, an American University has the camera connected to equipment that photographs the eye.
