Dear all,

Let me introduce myself, I am a computer science student from Bina Nusantara University. I am researching in computer vision. I want to measure an object size using a camera. I need Focus Pulse information since it leads to knowing the distance between the object and the camera.

Is there any information on how to get/ hack Focus Pulse?

Do you have a suggestion which camera that most ready to hack easily and most safest one?

If you don't want to risk damage to an expensive DSLR, there is a list of all Canon Powershot P&S cameras supported by CHDK here:  For Developers : Cameras overview 

Most of these can be purchased used on eBay or similar sites for very little cost.  For purposes of your project, that might be the easiest option?
