Hello & welcome, hazly !

how to use the LUA scripting?
CHDK scripts are plain text files, you can load them from the Scripts menu; in <Alt> mode you can start a script with the shutter button, to stop it press the shutter button again.

Here are some links for you:
* CHDK wikia - uBasic: Scripting (first steps)
* CHDK wikia - uBasic: Scripting tutorial (ubasic commands)
* CHDK wikia - Lua:    Syntax
* CHDK wikia - Lua:     Lua ! (what is Lua, links, samples)
* CHDK wikia - Lua:    Running Lua scripts
* CHDK wikia - Lua:     Lua command reference (new/special Lua commands)

The "default" script is just an empty "placeholder"; normally CHDK remembers the last used script - you can use this "default" script to "unload" it. [1], [2]

(edit: typo...)

No.

Canon point&shoot cameras are not thermal imaging devices. Neither is the iphone. FLIR One is not just software from app store, it is a hardware add-on that uses the phone as its user interface.
