LUA script for HDR with stacking possibility, is it possible?

Well, I was wandering if it's possible to make a LUA script to automate the HDR photo process, including a stacking option and a dark-frame capture!  :)

The processes should look like this:
1) you put the camera in Manual mode, set a fix Av and focus; set the shutter speed so you don't have any highlights blows
2) set the script with the parameters:
  • step size
  • N. of pictures per step (for stacking purposes)
  • N. of steps
3) run the script
4) the script should keep the Av constant and increase the Tv (longer exposure) take the pictures and step forward
5) BUT, if the shutter speed is longer than 1" it should also capture a dark-frame exposure with no need to cover the lens with a lenscap (here is the point where I don't have any idea how or if it's possible to do that!)

With the results we could stack the images and remove the dark-frame from each one before making the HDR itself...
So, anyone interested in this challenge???  :D

This is not currently possible. There has been some experimental work on directly controlling the shutter, but it's not in the trunk.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

I am already doing Automatic HDR captures but these are individuals pictures. I merge them using DynamicPhoto HDR with good results.

Concerning the stacking process, I use sometimes the CHDK integrated Raw merging (average or sum) facilities. But this is, for me, only usefull for astronomics purpose. Sometimes, I also use PC stacking software.

About HDR merging, there is too much algorithms outside to integrate this to CHDK IMHO.
