motion detection issue with ixus950 (sd850)

hi,

i have been trying a motion detection script which detects the motion perfectly but it takes a second or so to take a picture. it focuses and then shoots. i tried manual zoom override from chdk which didnt help. i hoped that by choosing manual zoom (like 1000 mm for instance) would eliminate focusing.
do you have any suggestions to improve speed of taking picture after motion dedected? or do i need to change any other setting? i have searched and read so many topics in the forum but they are mostly for other cameras like A series or S series.

thanks a lot

Hi,

try Fudgey's MDFB-080914 script, it's the fastest one...

it works like a charm, thanks!

one more question, sometimes my camera swithces off when i take a photo, like u removed the battery, without retracting the lens. when i press to power button carries on fine.

any ideas? does this happen to others too?

thanks

As you should find in MDFB documentation, on some cameras (such as my a570) we experience random shoot-time crashes if flash is enabled. Do your MD crashes stop if you disable flash?

in fact, it happened a few times when flash was on and once with no flash. and they were all with some other photo settings but not MD. as far as i remember they were very high shutter speeds (1/20000 etc).
thanks
