powershot a495

I wish for the Powershot A495 to be supported, and I've tried to take steps to help the developers (for I am not one), such as finding version information and such. The ver.req and vers.req do not work. Version.req does not either. I tried pressing funcset + down as recommended for another camera and nothing happened. I also tried using the NewDryOS dumper. It did freeze the camera, but the empty.dum was empty when I string-tested it. I also tried the DryOS dumper. I did not try VxWorks because the camera is a new model.

I also tried getting another CHDK for an extremely similar camera to work, the A480 firmware. The A480 has a virtually identical button layout, body, and processor, so I thought maybe it would work. I got a "Firm Update" option in the menu, but it immediately gave an error, probably because of some sort of checksum or model code built into the firmware file.

I was able to retrieve some info from the camera by using the CameraVersion tool:

camera: Unknown (0x2800000) version 100 D

Canon Firmware Version: Firmware Version 1.00
Canon Model Id: Unknown (0x2800000)
Firmware Revision: 1.00 rev 4.00

CHDK for a different camera (e.g. a480 on a495) will never work, even if they are very similar. Different firmware versions of the same camera frequently need their own ports.

a495 is a new camera, so it is expected that existing udumper will not work. Dumping will require either a modified udumper or using the blinking method.

I finally found the blinker code after running around forever. The wiki is one massive jumble. So I tried to compile the LED address scanner. It comes up with a 1.5K file called main. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing from this point.
It would help if you linked to the specific thing you were trying to use.
