I've uploaded the already cleaned/trimmed dump (= ready to use in IDA) to the CHDK dumps repository: forum post.

Without IDA (only usable on Windows; you need the "Pro" version since the free one don't have ARM support) you can try to work with the GPL tools, but it's not as comfortable as with IDA...

Think this may be as far as I go without IDA, but if we get to the testing stage ........

That's fine, but it's of little help to an uninitiated amateur -- one needs at least a circuit diagram and an explanation of the workflow. See, I also blinked the stuff out of my cam through RS232 way back, and I vividly remember the frustration caused by the arcane/misleading/incorrect information, found on the net. Now that blinking comes again into fashion, newcomers need clear instructions. Unfortunately, I trashed my setup long ago and cannot reproduce it -- but you still can.

Good news on the dump indeed, how soon can we expect a test version? :D

Edit: I couldn't find any strings that relate to flash popup hmm.. Also, is there any idc file for IDA, there seems to be none for the new dryOS firmware..

If it will be of use, no problem.
I have a circuit diagram and board layout, I can also write some notes and add code snippets,
but I would not suggest that an uninitiated amateur try this except as a last resort.

I'll put it all together over the next few days and try to find somewhere to post it.
