Noob question: Getting the raws off SDHC

Hey, I've got a PowerShot SX10 and am having a lot of fun with the CHDK beta that just became available for it.  Great work, coders!

My question is how do I get the DNG files from my 16GB SDHC card to my computer running Windows XP?

If I use my SDHC reader, "My Computer" only displays the 4MB partition CHDK is stored on, not the other partition all the pics are stored on.  If I go to Disk Management to assign it a drive letter, I get a somewhat cryptic error message, that says Windows cannot assign a drive letter because the partition is not enabled.  To enable the partition, restart your computer.  I reboot with the SDHC attached, no dice.  Of course I unlocked the write protect notch as well, still nothing.

If I use the camera's USB cable, Windows recognizes it as a camera and at best shows me one folder with all the jpegs in it, no raws.  It won't let me browse the card and doesn't have a drive letter.

Everything works fine on Mac and Linux.  It's the Windows box that's giving me problems here.

Yes, it's Windows - it don't support multiple partitions for such removable devices..

The easiest way is the "Swap partitions" menu item in the CHDK Misc menu...store the PS.FI2 file to both partitions, so you can start CHDK the manual way (firmware update menu item from the Canon menu) at any time, swapping partitions is always possible...
You can also prepare new cards with multi partitions this way; there's "Create card with two partitions" in the Debug submenu & "Make card bootable" in the Misc menu...

You can also use a modified Windows driver for your card reader, read here: http://mind-fields-ahead.blogspot.com/2008/04/canon-s5-is-chdk-hack-step-by-step.html

Used the Swap Partitions method.  Works like a charm!

Off to Lightroom to work with my DNGs!
