i think you are right but please dont say that just like you are saying it,
It's true. I can't think of another way of saying it that would also be true. You need access to the camera to make a port. Someone who has skills needed to make a port will, by definition, also have the skills required to get a dump. So there is no real need for other people to expend a lot of effort trying to get one when no developer is available.
I'm not saying this to be discouraging, I'm saying to to save people from wasting their time, and clear up the mistaken belief getting a dump will make a port happen any sooner when there is no developer available.

See above. Who would be working on it other than people who own the camera ?
In any case, this is irrelevant to the ixus95 now, since it has been dumped.
