What is the "DEFAULT" font for CHDK?

I've been tempted to play around with the different fonts that are available, but I've been unable to determine which one is being used to start with. If I try a bunch of fonts and find that none are better than the default, which one do I choose to go back to?

Try "Miscellaneous" > Reset options to default.
A720IS.

No, thanks. Resetting ALL my settings is a pretty high price to pay just to look at some fonts...

@reddog99

no need to reset ALL your settings - just select any NON-rbf file instead of a font and it will revert to the default font.
the default font is compiled into the diskboot.bin / ps.fi*, that's why it has no .rbf entry; however, the font loading
routines will automatically revert to the default font if you select any file other than a valid .rbf

Of course it never hurts to save your CCHDK.CFG before experimenting.

hope that helps,

wim

@ailurus fulgens

LOL missed that, sorry ! However, a dummy default.rbf in the FONTS directory has been working fine for me ever since i started using CHDK (around build 300) - it works without a cam restart.

wim

PS what is missing (sadly) is some indication of currently active symbol & text fonts

don't be sorry, it's easy to miss one or more changesets of the chdk development, what with them happening so often ;)

hm, font/lang indication could be done easily, but somebody has to submit it to the bugtracker... :D

i doubt that lang indication is necessary though - if you can't read/recognise your menus
you KNOW you got the wrong one  :D

as for the fonts, i tend to just delete all the ones i know i will never use ... more is not always better IMHO

PS thanks for educating me about the origin of the firefox logo

Thanks, whim, that helped a lot. I've already found a few nicer fonts & no regrets!

Can I follow up on this?  Just to save a little space on the SD card, I'd like to delete the languages and fonts I'll never use.  If the default font is built into the .bin file, does that mean I can delete the entire Fonts folder and everything will still work ok?
