Hi,

I was wondering whether it would be possible to make the AF frames smaller. I happen to use my G9 for underwater macro and sometimes find focusing hard if a very small subject is floating and I'm shooting it against the blue background. It's not a big problem if you have a DSLR as the frame is much smaller, but having the frame over 5mm in diameter makes the camera trying to focus on the background rather then subject.

Can you add a feature which would increase number of AF frames in AiAF and make them smaller?

I believe this is not possible.

I don't know what kind of features the G9 has, but the only trick I can think of to make the focus area smaller (no, I haven't tested this) would be to focus with digital tele zoom option, lock focus and then disable digital tele zoom. If turning off this feature unlocks focus, use a script to store and reset focus.
