@KingOtto: This "bug" is an "old" one, and existed since....(see in this thread round page 16?)...
fboesch,
I'm extremely sorry that I overlooked this "old" issue and therefor somewhat polluted this thread.
Though I'm disappointed a little that AF continuous shooting does not work, I'm somewhat glad that I'm not the only one having to deal with this for the time being, hoping that all "great" devs here are able to find the solution.
So now, is there a way of not loading CHDK on startup without changing cards, so that I can use default Canon AF continous shooting in Sports mode while using an 8 or 16 GB sdhc card? Because when I unlock, in order not to load CHDK, I end up in my small 2 MB FAT partition and thus have no available space to take pictures?
Maybe something like a temporary swapping partition option in the bootfile and not loading the rest of CHDK as an option to the user could be built in? Or is there any other way to do what I want besides using another memory card?
@all: I still intend to recheck the SX1 (2.00h) CHDK code later and find perhaps the modifications needed. But hence: My Cam + CHDK are "hobby" and different than in the beginning (March/April 09, bad weather season here in Switzerland) I'm quite busy right now (work, golfing, rc modelling & taking pictures with "beta CHDK" while weather is good).
First things first fboesch, life should be a joy right? Us non-devs can only wait and hope for your kind efforts (and others) to make CHDK even better than it already is.
Concerning the crashing cam I can tell you that it feels like the cam is trying to get into focussing mode and showing live data again while trying to save the picture (picture is actually not saved though before it crashes), and then does not know what to do anymore, resulting in total shut down (have to restart cam).
Maybe this helps a little in order to know where to look more specifically?
Thanks and hopefully you don't ski, leaving you some time to look into this problem this winter :-)
Cheers
