Sorry if this has been asked many times over, I'm just a few hours new to this.

Is the motion detection feature available for the SD700?  I can't find the script for it in the menu.

Yes, MD is available in all CHDK-powered cameras...
The MD feature is not available from the CHDK menu, it's a scripting feature.
A very fast & reliable script is fudgey's FastMD, you can download it (documentation is included) from here: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,471.msg21328.html#msg21328
