Can't make subject distance work

Hi,
I own a A630 and unlike shutter speed, aperture and iso override, subject distance doesn't seem to work. I'm using the camera on manual mode, timer and an intervalometer script, but the subject distance settings don't even show on the OSD (unlike shutter speed, aperture or iso override). This is also valid for bracketing.

Version 0.9.7-726

Thanks

Just to be sure: when you try to use this function, do you put the camera manually into manual focus?

Ooops. I'm sorry. When I read "manual mode", I was thinking on exposition. My bad.
