Hello,
I just got a Canon A590IS and loaded CHDK on it. I made CHDK bootable and writelocked the card. Now I need to transfer the pictures from the camera to my pc, and I don't want to have to dig for the card reader each time, unlock the card, move the pictures, lock the card again and put it in my camera.

Is there a way for me to use the camera as a flash disk and access the files on it directly? I haven't found such an option. What's worse, I don't see a way to transfer the files even with the camera's default firmware. When I connect it through USB the screen just goes black and nothing happens. If I remove the cable, everything's back to normal.

In the Script menu, disable the remote switch before trying to upload to the PC.

All remote parameters are disabled, still nothing...

Are you saying that with remote switch disabled, camera in ordinary mode (not ALT mode) and switched to playback that when you connect camera to PC nothing happens ?

If so, that has nothing to do with CHDK or SDM.

The PC should make a sound and respond in some way.

Hmm, it does nothing, even with the camera's default firmware. That's odd. Just for the record, in normal operation, should I be able to use my camera as a flash disk to *move* (not just copy) pictures from it?

Trying it on a PC, it works. I guess it's just the Mac that sucks, thanks for your help.
