Many thanks, reyalp. Now downloaded it. I will test it, and i report back.

Currently i working some test and building external power supply for this camera.
The adapter plug is 2,35/0,75mm (not 2,5mm!). Center pin positive. I use simple test,
 now the camera is running from laboratory power supply. CHDK show the voltage same with
 the power supply voltage. Original Canon power supply output is 3.15V, i think this is absoulute maximum rating.
(equal two fresh AA cell voltage). Do not use any unstabilized, cheap adaptor, possibly kill the camera (this adaptors with low load, the output voltage very high). And check polarity twice. Any high quality 3 volt 2-3 amper stabilized adapter useful. I will build external battery pack with two D size alkaline battery or accu. Some measurements coming soon, for example, how many current required for playback, record, flash, etc.

Now tested this chdk http://www.zshare.net/download/61089350b8fe3c25/ on a590is fw 1.0.1b.
I not have 1.00e firmware camera, cannot test.

Now override menu exposure time selectable 2048sec - 1/100K.

- I try record 16 sec image, OK.
- 64 sec time is OK, and image is OK, i see visual difference with 16sec
- 80 sec time, not ok, real time approx. 64 sec only, picture visually same as "normal" 64sec
- 128 sec time, not ok, real time approx. 64 sec only, picture visually same as "normal" 64sec
- 2048 sec time, not ok, real time approx. 64 sec only, picture visually same as "normal" 64sec
- i try Shutterspeed enum type switch to factor, and set it to 500 * 1 sec. not ok, real time approx. 64 sec only, picture visually same as "normal" 64sec

I try disable dark frame subtraction, this is ok, not record the dark frame, and i see visual difference in image.

Any help are welcome, and of course i test it.

Understood, but all sub versions have to be implemented. The switch in camera.h is per camera, not per sub.

edit:
trying a 128 and a 60 second exposure should be enough.
