timestamp is a HUUUUUGE thing to add to chdk, just codewise alone. plus, we never got a working diff in the first place.
yeah, keyboard, i know. there are so many things in my chdk pipeline i'd like to check in... but none of the devs get paid, they all have real jobs... solution is simple: we need more devs :)

I'm just curios. Why would you want a timestamp cluttering up your image when the shot time is already saved in the exif ? If it doesn't already exist, it would be trivial to make a tool that took this and rendered it onto the image.

If people think it somehow gives evidence the picture was actually taken on that date/time, this is a mistake.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

I entirely agree with you but sometimes talking people out of what they want is an exercise in futility.

easy answer: you dont have a pc nearby, only a printer. you want to print for people.
or: you wanna do a timelapse and always see the time & date - without having to add them to the pictures via another tool.
i bet there are more reasons.

yes, the timestamp adds a lot of code and binary size would increase a lot. of course it would be possible to make it a compile time option.

this is useless in my view. You can always add your time stamps after with any photo editing program. why put dirt on your pictures with that?
