Is it possible to see how much power the camera is consuming from CHDK?

The reason I'm asking is because I connected external batteries to power the camera but I'm getting the "Low battery" warning. I'm guessing there's something bad with the cables I'm using. Anyhow, I'd like to know how much under-powered the camera actually is.
