Hi everyone,

I am totally new to Digital Raw Cameras so have been doing a lot of reading!

I was searching for RAW image converters and found XDepth Raw Converter press release.

Was impressed by its features. "XDepth Raw Converter is a professional-grade raw development software featuring a fully High Dynamic Range 96bit/pixel floating point rendering engine. With its integrated HDR Tone Mapping Operators, HDR Contrast adjustment and color-picking custom white balance selection, XDepth Raw Converter offers outstanding image processing functionalities.", "The XDepth Raw file format not only offers raw image compression but it also introduces copyright protection by securing author and copyright information within the file itself. Security features of the XDepth Raw file format can also be enhanced to offer full DRM - Digital Rights Management, using certified digital signatures and time-stamps." plus "allows conversion of raw data to its jpeg-compatible XDepth Raw file format, shrinking raw files down to one fourth the original size."

The website is

Has anyone tried the XDepth Raw Converter with CHDK RAW/DNG or any other RAW files?

Tried to do a forum search using "XDepth Raw Converter" but only got "Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator."

the search engine is broken today, but i'm pretty sure i heard/read about xdepth the first time now.

i am certain this program will not be able to open the chdk crws directly. but it should be able to handle the dngs.
other than that there is nothing else to say than: try it :)
