is it possible to have this sort of high speed frame rate with Ixus (or SD) series? one camere (casio) does this, 1000fps. so i thought it might be possible with canon too? that would be awesome..

I suspect it may be possible to sample the sensor like that, but I guess itd exceed the memory bandwidth.

Nope. For most CCD sensors, 60 fps is maximum in video mode. For higher speeds, CMOS sensors are used, but even for them, higher the speed, lower the resolution

Yes but not in the maximum resolution (ex. 8MP but only VGA size).

And here's a related question i have... Is it possible then... to capture HD Video using the CCD in full resolution, so that we have an HD video??? I think that with a CCD sensor this is pretty impossible because it's not made for such a thing and the sensor is too slow for that.

No, it is not possible. There is a solution to do a full HD movie, however. Take a burst in 1600x1200 and use some piece of software to create a movie.
