Hi mx3,hi to all..
is there a way to port this hack on samsung s1050?
I've read a mx3's post on another forum,about similarity with other cam....I hope is a good news!!

can you help me (us)???

nobody knows.
in fact it has different hardware/software architecture.
here you can see some analysis details as well as tools

I think hacking Samsung s1050 is a lot more fun and simpler than hacking canon cams.
canon firmware - monolitic code which is position dependent on ROM address space.
Samsung firmware - ROMFS image with alot of files (+pair of executables maybe required for flash writing)
ROM File System means modularity, PIC(position independent code) - FREEDOM for hacking

Unfortunatelly I do not own any camera with this specific processor/firmware structure so I did no more research in this direction.

good thing about this processor/firmware  - once some hack available for one model it can be very easily expanded to other models (and even brands).
it also means that there are alot of people who can participate in hacking ( hacking of Olympus FE-XXX will bring results for samsung s1050 also...)

unfortunately canon cams are not similar to those others I mentioned.
