Do you know C and assembler reasonably well ? If not, there's nothing you can do. If you do, then get the udumper source, the full CHDK source and read that thread starting from the post I linked. You'll probably want to take a look at http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/For_Developers as well.

As I said in the other thread, this is one of the cameras that doesn't work with udumper. Going further requires C and assembler knowledge. There's no need for more people to keep trying udumper.

The dump technique is probably very similar to the approach on the SD990.

No it isn't. The SD990 is the older generation Digic IV (along with SX10 and a couple others) that works fine with the current udumper. If (as reported here) udumper doesn't work with the SD960, then it is not like the SD990. FWIW, I'm the person that did the SD990 port, so I have some idea what I'm talking about here. ::)

There's no point in throwing out wild guesses. Someone with decent C and assembler skills needs to have one of these cameras and figure out what is going on. While some of us could probably do it from the sx200 dump, there's not much point, because doing the full port still requires someone with the same skill set to actually have the camera.

Okay, camera in Hands now, but don't know where to start, I will start reading the developers forum and the wiki's.
Another approach, instead of a dump, is there any way to download the firmware upgrade file and study it ?

Sure, if canon released a firmware update for this camera, you might be able to learn something from it. However, canon usually does not do this. I suspect they only put out public firmware updates for major bugs.

I'd suggest starting with the FI2 + blinker method described in the thread I linked earlier.

But after that, no luck to dump.
Anyody can point me to the right place to start?
I have no problem playing a bit with C and trying various addresses but I do not know how to get the right environment  (source files, compilers etc).
I could try the blinker method, but for that I need to play with addresses and be able to compile some code...
