Best Timelapse Battery Life?

Dear all,

Just entered the world of chdk today with a test timelapse using my G9 - sadly the battery failed after 3.5 hours running at a frame every 10 seconds.

I've seen much longer timelapses on here and was wondering what the best setup is? Any thoughts on the g9 or other canon's would be great as it would be nice to get a high quality timelapse over 10 hours or so if thats possible?

Cheers

Andy

the only way to forget your worries is with an AC adaptor...

only ac adapter. if you are a bit electronic guy, then you can easily make one yourself. just get some old power supply from some device like Ethernet router or switch, add voltage stabilizer to achieve specific voltage for your camera, radiator, and you're done :) it's cheap and relatively simple.

I always use manual focus set to infinity, and the smallest size 640x480, and most important of all I turn off review, and the LCD with a plug in the output port. I've gotten over 5hrs with no problem, of course I'm using a A720IS not a G9 but hopefully these tips might help.

Yep, a few hours worth shooting (or waiting for motion with shutter half pressed) is what you're going to get from these cameras. You need external power (AC adapter or larger batteries) to extend that. Several people on these forums have done that, look around...  ;)
