Image Preview - disabling it

Ok, I'm a super newbie :)  I've searched the forum and web, to find out if the image preview can be disabled.

I'm trying the Intervalometer script taking pictures every X seconds.  It seems like it could go even faster if the image preview didn't popup after every picture that is taken.

Is there a way to disable this?  I haven't quite been able to find this answer. Thanks!

you mean image review, don't you? you should be able to disable it after reading the manual to your camera.

I believe there is a setting in the original Canon menus where you can choose image review as something like none or one or two seconds, but I don't remember exactly where it is.

I use the chdk on my SX230 and SD1100 cameras, and I installed them using a Macbook, currently running 10.6.8.

It can be difficult to find... as it is hidden some of the time.

On a new SD990IS/IXUS980IS, I just spent half an hour going through the camera menus, searching on this forum, going through the CHDK menus and finally found PhyrePhoXs post above.  (I set this on my SD1100IS when I first started using it 6 months ago and promptly forgot how to do it)

On my new cam, REVIEW does not show up unless the camera has the lens extended and is in shooting mode as opposed to playback mode.  The SD990IS powers up with the lens retracted.  Looking through the menu system just will not show the REVIEW function. Doh. Finally, I noticed this behavior and solved my problem. :)

FYI, if you hold down the power button a bit longer than normal, it will start in shoot mode.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Yeah, its in the original canon menus, but you won't see it unless you're in shooting mode. The menus do change based on what mode you're in, so its good to keep that in mind in general. (It took me a long time to find the custom timer options because they don't show up until you put it in custom timer mode.)
