I hope more people, not only me, sent to waterwingz their email and thanks.

It's the only reason for not replacing my G10 with a 11 or 12.

Thanks again waterwingz for your time and interest!

I hope more people, not only me, sent to waterwingz their email and thanks.
I've heard from seven people so far,  some of whom have not yet worked out what firmware version they have.

Regardless, I've put together a build tree for the following firrnware versions :  100f, 100h, 102a, 103b, 104a. Priority will go first to whatever my camera has followed by cameras whose owners have PM'd me indicating a willingness to test and a real email address.

UPDATE :  all reported firmware versions are 1.02A.  That will simplify things if I don't hear from any other owners   ::)

My firmware is v104a probably as a result of Canon repair last year. Keep up the brilliant work Waterwingz

Ten people sent me PM's so far offering to help test  - 3 different firmware versions.  Looks like the 1.02A gets top priority based on contacts so far.

And best new yet, my "new/used" camera is in the postal system on the way to me.

But I'll be on vacation next week so at least I won't feel like I need to wait by the mailbox every day for the mailman.  :)

Hi everyone,

Due to a recent switch to using an iphone, and finding lots of fun apps to augment and enhance the camera capabilities, I've become more curious about what might be possible with my G10. The first Canon camera I've owned and love dearly.

After a Google sweep, I found this thread. Needless to say seeing the recent activity has gotten me very excited.

Waterwingz, I sent you an e-mail with my firmware.

Regards,
t

@thedutchtickler : Got your email but you probably need to read this <CHKD Wiki Entry> to understand how to get your firmware version.   1.0.0.0 is not a real firmware version.

For reference to all,  we currently have volunteer testers with the following firmware versions 1.02A (5 people),  1.03B (1 person),  1.04A (2 people).   There are also couple of people who sent me a note volunteering who have not provide a firmware version.     This just leaves the 1.00F and 1.00H.  I suspect the 1.00F will never be done because Canon offers an firmware upgrade for that version (to 1.02A).   So for completeness,   we still need a testing volunteer with a 1.00H.
