Hi guys
I'm testing beta CHDK for a SX10 firmware 1.02b. I've been able to shoot in RAW mode (CRW and DNG file format). I cannot delete or transfer RAW file (CRW and DNG one) from my camera: Canon Software does not recognize neither DNG nor CRW files, and from windows explorer I'm able to see only JPG file in my SX10.
Is card reader the only way to handle RAW for my camera?
Another question: is it possible to save RAW only in DNG format (NO CRW or CR2)?

Use a card reader, or don't use canon software.

You may be able to transfer raw or DNG over USB if you choose the correct combination of prefix/extension

If you select DNG, then CRW is not saved.

CRW and CR2 the same thing in CHDK, and neither one is canon format. See the sticky threads in this forum.

The Canon Software don't recognize the RAW files; for Windows Explorer use CRW_ prefix & .CR2 suffix, this combination will work; disable "DNG file extension.

The DNG RAW images then can be transfered, you have to rename them from .cr2 to .dng on your hard disc...

You should always do a power-off & power-on cycle before you connect the camera to the USB port.

I renamed my .crw file to .dng but still am not able to open it in Lightroom 2...

It still says it cannot open the format. can u pls help me as to how i can open n edit it in lightroom n photoshop..

You can't use CRW images with LR or PS; renaming files doesn't change the content ;)

--> Enable the CHDK DNG support, then transfer the DNG files using a card reader !
