Hi all -

I'm thinking about trying out CHDK on my PowerShot A590IS. One of the things that I wished could be improved is manual focus via the LCD. I know that Canon has default support for enlarging the center of the preview when in MF mode, but I always wished this was bigger, or even better, be zoomable just like the Live View zooming available on some DSLRs. This would allow much better control over the focusing, especially when doing up-close "macro" shots.

Does CHDK enable such a feature, by chance?

I am also interested in this feature, but I think it won't be implemented.
Is there any chance to implemet the feature?

No one will known until someone reverse engineers that part of the code. It wouldn't be surprising if there were hardware limits, OTOH, it wouldn't be too surprising if they just assumed users would want some context too.
