Double DNG via USB on a IXUS 860 IS

Hi -.^

First, thanks for this very nice and useful firmware evolution !
I hope it's the beginning of new horizons for compact camera and DSLR ^.^

So, I have a question about DNG features.
I'm using the "ixus860_sd870-100c-0.9.8-778-full" on my IXUS 860 IS, I've activated RAW generation and internal DNG conversion in the menu.

All is working fine, but when I connect the camera via USB to download images I see all image in double in the w$ explorer o.O
There's the "normal" file named "img_number.dng" and another named "img_number(nnn).dng.
Both of files are the same when I open it in a software, and size are same too.

Other information, when I use the internal explorer, I can see the DNG file and the associated JPG. So, I think it's good in the camera.

It's not a big problem, I can erase image with "(nnn)" after download, but it's a bit longer to do..

Maybe I've missed something, but is it possible to see only one DNG per image via USB, or only one DNG with one JPG? (a pretty nice solution, as in my DSLR camera)

Thanks -.^

I don't know if there's a link with this problem, but there's another thing strange; when I delete one or more images in "play" mode in the camera, only the JPEG file is deleted. The .DNG is always in the directory and the camera say "No image" in "play" mode o.O

if by 'delete .... in "play" mode in the camera' you mean via the Canon menu, that would be normal behaviour:
the Canon viewing/deleting routines have no idea that CHDK has made the cam produce DNG's and will totally ignore them.

No idea about your USB problem, never use USB (unless for card reader)

cheers,

wim
