In early March of 2008, I initiated a marathon "dump and build" process with Microfunguy to bring CHDK and, eventually, SDM to the TX-1 platform.
With
invaluable assistance from ewavr, grand, jeff666, acseven and a number of other CHDK'ers, we had a working version officially released by 10 Apr 08.
Additional builds brought us to SDM ver. 1.70 which I used on 21 Jun 08 to shoot HD - 1280x720p - videos of the "Mermaid Parade" on Coney Island here in New York City.
I had built two stereo TX-1 rigs, using 4 cameras and special external battery supplies which allowed us to shoot handheld for extended periods and we ended up with 4-hours worth of footage.
As a proof of concept, we edited together an 8-1/2 minute, full color, HiDefinition video.
I'm proud to announce that a 3-minute excerpt from that video will be included in the 3D Theater screening at the Stereoscopic Displays and Applications Convention in San Jose, CA next week, 19 Jan 09.
http://www.stereoscopic.org/I just want to extend a special "
Thank You" to all of the people here who helped make this a reality.
Though uncredited, your contributions will be up there on that screen as well!
Kind Regards,
