Hi,

Specific language based forums are hard to control because of obvious moderating limitations.

Nevertheless, I think that some will benefit a lot with a specific place to ask questions in their natural language. Those would be placed forums under a main category named Multilanguage, with subforums per language - this way any topic can be discussed here - complicated to manage, but as English will continue to be the main language there probably shouldn't be  many problems.

So, here's a poll to start the discussion on which languages should be covered.

As for Russian, there are at least two forums for CHDK discussions - one of them is frequently visited and located on the the most active and the most popular hardware/software forum in the ruNet. The another one is located on the CHDK-dedicated site.
So, I don't think that we need the third here.

PS. But, if you decide to open Russian forum, I can be a moderator there .

Hmm... I do not know English very well. Before now I considered that 'to swear' has the good meaning only. I've just open a dictionary...

The Russians are swearing very rarely (especially those who use CHDK), I swear. :D

Do they have a similar phrase in Russian that goes "This is like putting the fox in charge of the hen-house."?
(Here was cyrillic text) - Let the fox to guard a henhouse. (To set a wolf to keep the sheep.)
The other russian equivalent: (Here was cyrillic text) - Let the billy-goat to go to vegetable garden. (Put the cat near the goldfish bowl.)

It seems that this board does not allow to post cyrillic. In the preview mode it is ok, but if I send it, the text is replaced by question marks.  :(

So... I guess that English should continue to be the main language. Eventual questions in other languages will be dealt with accordingly.

Do you agree?

English is definitely the most popular language. if some other language was used, there would be a lot fewer people that would understand it. English is THE international language and I find it to be a nice language too.
